Moving the Storm Nimbus service from one node to another using Ambari

The current version of Ambari (2.4.2) does not provide an option to move the Storm Nimbus service from one node to another. However, the steps mentioned the following workaround can be used to perform this.

Workaround

To move Nimbus service from one node to another using Ambari, perform the following:

1. Install Storm Nimbus on a different node of the cluster using the services wizard. (Service > Storm > Service actions > Add Nimbus)
2. Stop existing Storm Nimbus service.
3. Select the host in Ambari to remove the Storm Nimbus service, and use the ‘Delete’ option to delete Storm Nimbus from the host.
4. Start the Storm Nimbus server on the new node.
5. Update all client configs to point to new Storm Nimbus service.

NOTE: While performing the above mentioned steps, make sure that topologies are not running.
